GAUGE: Hat: 16 sts and 24 rows = 4” in Stockinette St.
Mittens: 18.5 sts and 28 rows = 4” in Stockinette St.

NEEDLES:
Hat:
Size US 9 (5.5 mm): 16” circular and dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Size US 7 (4.5 mm): 16” circular, or 2-3 sizes smaller than gauge needle (for rib).
Mittens:
Size US 7 (4.5 mm): dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Size US 4 (3.5 mm): dpns, or 2-3 sizes smaller than gauge needle (for rib).
NOTIONS: Stitch holder or waste yarn, 8 stitch markers, tapestry needle.
